Jessica Barker (Lawrence)
Jessica is a RIBA Chartered Architect with over 10 years experiences. She spent 7 years working at Ron Arad’s, a small but highly creative studio, where she worked on a 5 star hotel for Nobu in Shoreditch (now on site), a prototype pod house (under construction), exhibitions, installations, and footwear. She spent the formative years of her professional career working in diverse and creative environments at Alison Brooks, JM Architects and James Gorst. Jessica is also a Creative in Residence at Hereford College of Art, where she is developing a range of prototype bespoke building fittings.
Stolon Studio is a design collective branching out to design and make buildings, homewares, textiles and other items. Stolon explores the many facets of architectural practice and design: from history, theory, experimentation, drawing, making, regulations, and contracts.
Jessica and Robert Barker, established Stolon Studio with the intention to design and make innovative spaces and products, working with experts in their fields, be they architects, jewellery designers, product designers or agricultural metalworkers.

Paul Carpenter Associates is a Chartered Civil, Structural Engineering and Surveying practice established in 1979. The company has built up an outstanding reputation and aims to provide clients with a considered and professional service. Paul Carpenter Associates is a limited company wholly owned by share holding Directors who are all actively involved with managing projects and committed to developing the company. This provides a very personal and caring approach ensuring that maximum experience and commitment is available no matter how small or large the project.
Robert is a RIBA Chartered Architect with over 15 years experience. He trained at the Royal College of Art before working for a number of innovative firms. Robert is a director of Stolon Studio.
In 2003 he jointly set up Baca Architects and went on to win numerous awards and recognition as one of the leading innovators in flood resilient and adaptable architecture and spatial planning. With Baca, he won the RIBA Presidents Award for Research in 2009 and 2014, for the Long-term Initiatives for Flood-risk Environments (LifE) project and the Climate Adaptive Neighbourhoods (CAN) project respectively. Robert was the co-author of the Metric Handbook Flood Aware Chapter (2015) and the RIBA book - Aquatecture (2016).
In 2016 he jointly set up Stolon Studio with the aim of specialising in Architectural Development - using his design skills to unlock complex sites and push the boundaries of development. He is now actively looking for new sites and new project partners to work with.
